Welcome to The Trident Radar.

A pretty huge last week with a whole ton of deals. Lots of gritty seed deals, huge late stage runs and lots of M&A!

Lets dive in!

We sponsored the DataTribe Innovation Day 2025!

Great work on the W, Evercoast.

  • Armis hauls an enormous $435M to double down on OT and enterprise asset intelligence.

  • Oleria tops up with $19M for adaptive identity controls spotted in fresh filings.

  • Global Guardian buys Solace Global Risk.

  • Other deals worth watching this week include SplxAI, Truffle Security, Red Level, Defendify.

FUNDING SPOTLIGHT

Armis — Growth — $435M (NEA / consortium)
Enterprise & OT asset intelligence platform. Step-change funding signals large estates are prioritising device and infrastructure visibility.

Oleria — Round extension — $19M (per SEC filing)
Adaptive identity security startup where access changes based on context automatically.

Commonware — Strategic investment — $25M (Tempo leading)
Crypto infrastructure firm building tooling for key management, policy enforcement and payments-adjacent security.

detections.ai — Seed — $3.5M (Lead: Undisclosed)
Early-stage startup focused on automated threat detection and response using AI-powered behavior analytics. Strong indicator of seed capital returning to differentiated security models.

M&A INTELLIGENCE

SplxAI — Acquired by Zscaler (announced Nov 3)
Offensive-AI automation for red-teaming and pre-deployment threat simulation, essentially “AI adversary” tools on the attacker’s side turned into defensive leverage.

Red Level — Acquired by The 20 MSP (announced Nov 3)
Data-pipeline security and telemetry-first threat detection for modern dev stacks shifting left into code-to-cloud rather than catching it once in production.

Global Guardian → Solace Global Risk (announced Nov 6)
US-based Global Guardian acquires UK-based Solace Global Risk to expand European operations and unify exec protection, travel-risk intel, and rapid response under one platform.

Google Gets the GO-ogle Ahead
Google–Wiz cleared a US DOJ review step on Nov 5, keeping one of the year’s marquee cyber deals on track pending other jurisdictions. Momentum matters for late-stage security exits.

INSIDER INSIGHT

The new bar for “useful AI” in security: closed-loop control

2024 was AI-everywhere. The same can be said for 2025, but its ending with buyers getting picky. The bar moved from “assist the analyst” to “change the state of the system safely without asking. That’s what this week’s money is really paying for.

  • Armis is a perfect example at scale. Asset intelligence is only interesting if it can trigger safe network changes, revoke access, or update policy across mixed IT/OT estates. That’s closed-loop.

  • Oleria sits right on the identity seam: context shifts, access adjusts, risk drops, humans don’t touch a thing. That’s closed-loop.

    • Pre-deployment hardening of AI agents means fewer fires to fight.

    • Autonomic secrets detection that opens a PR and rotates the key beats another SOC ticket.

    • Mid-market bundles that actually change posture, not generate reports, are finally winning budget.

Takeaway: 2026 winners will prove they can measure → decide → act → verify with guardrails. If your AI needs a human to press “go,” you’re behind.

COMPANY SPOTLIGHT

Featured in this weeks deals!

  • Funding: Seed/early stage, with a strategic round announced Nov 03 led by Modern Technical Fund (MTF) and SentinelOne Venture.

  • What they do: detections.ai offers an AI-native detection engineering platform that empowers security teams and SOCs to build, test, and evolve threat detection rules at machine speed. Their platform blends generative AI, community-shared rules, and real-time feedback loops.

  • Key numbers: According to the company, in under five months they engaged over 9,000 detection engineers and 1,500+ organizations.

Trident Take

In the next 12 months, “detection engineering platforms” like detections.ai will become the SIEM add on that everyone needs to have. If you’re a vendor in detection, visibility or response and you’re still pitching “write more rules”, you may already be obsolete. detections.ai is riding on the shift: automation + community + AI.

Buyers, take notice.
